Adding photos

Hosts and guests can add photos to an event following these steps:

  • Select an event from the Home screen.

  • If no events are shown, follow the on-screen prompts to add or join an event.

  • From the event page, tap the "+" button, then "Add from library".

  • Select up to 10 photos at a time from your library and tap "Add".

  • You may need to adjust access to photos from the Settings menu on your device.

  • You can also take a photo within the app using the "Take photo" option from the "+" menu.

Inviting guests

Hosts and guests can invite guests to an event following these steps:

  • Select an event from the Home screen.

  • If no events are shown, follow the on-screen prompts to add or join an event.

  • From the event page, tap the "+" button, then "Invite guests".

  • Guests can scan the QR code displayed on your device or they can type in the 6-digit code by tapping "Join an event" from the Home screen.

  • Hosts can also display the QR code on the slideshow for guests to scan. This option is turned on by default, but you can adjust it by tapping the "Play" button towards the top of an event page and turning the toggle on/off within the Slideshow settings section.

  • Hosts can take a screenshot of the QR code from their device and add it to a print-ready document to place printed items around the event for guests to scan. Free, customizable templates are available in a variety of formats on Canva.com.

  • If the number of guests exceeds the host's plan limit, hosts and new guests will receive an alert that no more guests can be added. Hosts can update their plan from the event page and then add more guests.

Managing photos

Hosts and guests can manage photos following these steps:

  • Hosts can remove any photos added to an event from the "Manage photos" link on the event page.

  • Guests can remove photos they have added to an event from the "Manage my photos" link on the event page.

  • Picstax stores photos for 90 days after an event date has passed. Hosts can view the event expiration date and download photos before this date from the "Manage photos" link within an event. Select photos and open up the "Share" menu for download options.

Playing the slideshow

Only hosts can play an event slideshow.

  • From the event screen, tap the "Play" button to open up the slideshow settings and follow the on-screen prompts to play the slideshow on your device.

  • To share the slideshow on a big screen, download Picstax for Apple TV or visit app.picstax.com on any web browser to play your slideshow on a web-enabled TV, projector, or monitor at your event.

Terms of Use

Effective date: September 1, 2024At Picstax, we aim to help make events even more enjoyable by providing a service that allows event hosts and guests to share photos and view them in real time at the event. These Terms of Use govern the use of the Picstax apps and Picstax.com (referenced as “Picstax” below) for these services. Picstax is owned and operated by Kippis Studios Inc.By using Picstax, you indicate that you have read and understand these Terms of Use and agree to abide by them at all times. If you do not agree to these Terms of Use, do not use Picstax.Acceptable Use
At Picstax, we want to provide a safe and respectable service for hosts and guests to share photos and view them in real time at an event. While we are working on providing additional services to moderate content, we’ve created the below policy around Acceptable Use to inform hosts and guests about our protocols for using Picstax, uploading content, and respecting the rights of others.
By using Picstax, you agree that you are at least 13 years of age.You also agree not to conduct any of the following activities on Picstax:• Violate the intellectual property rights of Picstax or a third party content provider
• Upload any material on Picstax that may be deemed defamatory, obscene, pornographic, vulgar, or offensive to others
• Promote discrimination, hatred, harassment, bullying, or harm against any individual or group through the use of Picstax
• Promote violence or threats to any person or entity through the use of Picstax
• Promote illegal or harmful activities or substances through the use of Picstax
Although we are not obligated to monitor your usage of Picstax, we may do so periodically to ensure compliance with this Acceptable Use policy or to comply with applicable laws. If we believe you are using Picstax in a manner that violates this Acceptable Use policy, we reserve the right to limit, suspend, or terminate your access to Picstax. We also reserve the right to take any legal steps necessary to prevent you from accessing Picstax.User Contributions
Users may post and share the following information on Picstax that may be seen by other Picstax users at the event:
• Name or username
• Photos from the user's library
• Photos from the user's camera
• Comments and messages
By posting on Picstax, you agree to share the above details with other Picstax users at the event. You also agree to abide by the Acceptable Use policy outlined above.Accounts
When you create an account on Picstax, you agree to the following:
• You are at least 13 years of age
• You are solely responsible for the account and the security and privacy of the account, including passwords or sensitive information attached to that account
• All personal information you provide to us through the account is up to date, accurate, and truthful and that you will update the personal information if it changes
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you are using Picstax illegally or if you violate these Terms of Use.
Free Trial
The free trial and paid options apply to the host of the event. We offer the following free trial of Picstax for a host's first event:
• Up to 5 guests may join the event
• Up to 20 photos from the event may be shown on the slideshow
• Photos are stored for 90 days following the event date
• Host may download photos from the event
• The host may upgrade at any time to allow additional guests and photos for the event.
The free trial expires once the first event date has ended. Once the free trial has been used, the host will need to purchase a plan for any subsequent events.Sale of Services
These Terms of Use govern the sale of services available on Picstax. The services will be paid for in full by the event host when an event is created or upgraded. The following paid services are available on Picstax and apply per event:

• Up to 100 guests may join the event
• Up to 500 photos from the event may be shown on the slideshow
• Photos are stored for 90 days following the event date
• Host may download photos from the event
• Host may upload their own cover photo to the event
Max Plan
• Up to 300 guests may join the event
• Up to 1,500 photos from the event may be shown on the slideshow
• Photos are stored for 90 days following the event date
• Host may download photos from the event
• Host may upload their own cover photo to the event
These Terms of Use apply to all the services that are displayed on Picstax at the time you access it. All information, descriptions, or images that we provide about the services are as accurate as possible. However, we are not legally bound by such information, descriptions, or images as we cannot guarantee the accuracy of all services we provide. You agree to purchase services from Picstax at your own risk.We reserve the right to modify, reject or cancel your order if it becomes necessary. If we cancel your order and have already processed your payment, we will give you a refund equal to the amount you paid. You agree that it is your responsibility to monitor your payment instrument to verify receipt of any refund.Payments
Payments for upgraded events can be made through the App Store and are subject to Apple's terms and conditions.
Photo Storage
Photos will be stored for 90 days following the event date. After 90 days have passed, we reserve the right to remove the event's photos from our database. We will alert the host before this date so the host has time to download the photos before they are removed.
Consumer Protection Law
Where the Consumer Protection Act, or any other consumer protection legislation in your jurisdiction applies and cannot be excluded, these Terms of Use will not limit your legal rights and remedies under that legislation. These Terms of Use will be read subject to the mandatory provisions of that legislation. If there is a conflict between these Terms of Use and that legislation, the mandatory provisions of the legislation will apply.
Limitation of Liability
Kippis Studios Inc. and the directors, officers, agents, employees, subsidiaries, and affiliates will not be liable for any actions, claims, losses, damages, liabilities and expenses including legal fees from your use of Picstax.
Indemnity
Except where prohibited by law, by using Picstax you indemnify and hold harmless Kippis Studios Inc. and the directors, officers, agents, employees, subsidiaries, and affiliates from any actions, claims, losses, damages, liabilities and expenses including legal fees arising out of your use of Picstax or your violation of these Terms of use.
Applicable Law
These Terms of use are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta.
Severability
If at any time any of the provisions set forth in these Terms of Use are found to be inconsistent or invalid under applicable laws, those provisions will be deemed void and will be removed from these Terms of Use. All other provisions will not be affected by the removal and the rest of these Terms of Use will still be considered valid.
Changes
These Terms of Use may be amended from time to time in order to maintain compliance with the law and to reflect any changes to the way we operate Picstax and the way we expect users to behave on Picstax. When we amend these Terms of Use we will update the "Effective date" at the top of these Terms of Use. We will notify users by email of changes to these Terms of Use or post a notice on Picstax.

We may collect personal data when you use Picstax or interact with us, including when you:• Create a Picstax account that includes your name and email address

We may also collect technical data when you use Picstax, including:• Device data (including, but not limited to, type of device, browser, operating system)
• Usage data (including, but not limited to, search terms, pages viewed, screens viewed, and links clicked)
• Network and internet information (including, but not limited to, URLs and IP address)
How We Use Personal Data
Data collected on Picstax will only be used for the purposes specified in this Privacy Policy or indicated on the relevant screens of Picstax. We will not use your data beyond what we disclose in this Privacy Policy.
The data we collect may be used for the following purposes to:• Store and retrieve user photos from our database
• Analyze Picstax's data storage needs
• Prevent and address Picstax technical issues
• Improve the experience of using Picstax
• Track trial usage and purchases
• Provide support services for Picstax when requested
• Provide reasonably required information in the case of a merger, acquisition, or similar
• Respond to legal process when required or permitted by law
Who We Share Personal Data WithOther Users of Picstax
Picstax is a photo-sharing solution, which inherently means that information you add will be shared with other Picstax users at an event. When you create or join an event, any photos you upload, your name, and comments or messages posted within the app may be shared with other guests at the event.
Picstax Employees
We may disclose user data to any member of our organization who reasonably needs access to user data to achieve the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.
Third Parties
Third parties will not be able to access personal data beyond what is reasonably necessary to achieve the purpose of their interaction with Picstax and provide our services to you. This may include third parties, such as:
• Service providers that provide core services and products to manage our business functions and operations, including data storage and retrieval
• Contractors who assist us in improving and providing our product and services
• Audit, compliance, and governance functions
Potential buyers of Picstax in the event that we seek to sell the company or change ownership requirements (such as a merger, reorganization, or bankruptcy)
• Law enforcement or credit reporting agencies if a user fails to pay for services or to reasonably protect against fraud, security issues, or violation of our Privacy Policy or Terms of Use
If you follow hyperlinks from Picstax to a third party website, please note that we are not responsible for and have no control over their privacy policies and practices.Managing Your Personal Data
Photos and event details will be deleted 90 days following the event date. Hosts will be notified in advance of this date so they can download event photos before they are removed from the database.
You may also delete your account and all of your photos and events in your Account Settings through the Picstax app.You can also request to have your personal data removed by contacting us at [email protected].We may need to retain some data even after it has been deleted in an anonymized way in order to conduct reasonable business activities and where required or permitted by law.How We Protect Your Personal Data
We use industry-standard password protection for all of our data. While we take reasonable precautions to ensure that user data is secure and that users are protected, there always remains the risk of harm. The Internet as a whole can be insecure at times and therefore we are unable to guarantee the security of user data beyond what is reasonably practical.
Children
The minimum age to use Picstax is 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect or use personal data from children under 13 years of age. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child under 13 years of age, the personal data will be deleted as soon as reasonably possible. If a child under 13 years of age has provided us with personal data, their parent or guardian may contact us at [email protected] to have their personal data removed.
Modifications
This Privacy Policy may be amended from time to time in order to maintain compliance with the law and to reflect any changes to our data collection process. When we make an amendment, we will update the "Effective date" at the top of this Privacy Policy. We recommend that our users periodically review this Privacy Policy to ensure that they are aware of it and any updates. If necessary, we may notify users by email of changes to this Privacy Policy.
